What type of work do carers do?

Do I need experience to be a carer?

Yes absolutely! All of our carers undergo a rigorous DBS background check for the complete peace of mind of our service users.

What training will I receive to become a carer?

Are the working hours flexible?

Flexible caregiving, dedicated support. We value our clients’ need for 24/7 care, and our dedicated care workers enjoy flexible scheduling options. Full-time staff require a minimum of two evening shifts per week, while part-time staff need at least one. We also maintain a rotating weekend schedule to ensure work-life balance. However, to best serve our clients during peak periods, availability during mornings, lunch, and evenings is crucial.

Do I need a car to do care work?

Reliable transportation is key! While we admire eco-friendly options like cycling, some client locations might require a car, motorbike, or moped. Don’t worry, public transport and walking are also perfectly acceptable for certain areas. We’ll work with you to find the best mode of transportation that fits your needs and ensures punctual client care.

Will I receive support?

Our out-of-hours service is here for you. We offer guidance and support whenever you need it, so you never have to face challenges alone. 
Our dedicated team is here to provide a listening ear and offer valuable support. Whether it’s navigating tough decisions or simply needing a reassuring voice, our out-of-hours service is available around the clock. Healthcare Assistant

Location: BATH
Full Time & Part Time

Purpose of the Job:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care: Support the needs of the service user by providing the personal care outlined in the Care Plan. This includes assisting with personal tasks, meal serving and feeding assistance, and activity provision for mental stimulation.

  • Safety and Welfare: Ensure that the interests, safety, and welfare of the service user are at the forefront of any action, arrangement, or intervention.

  • Person-Centred Care: Provide person-centred care and assist clients in the best way possible according to the care plan.

  • Professionalism: Maintain a neutral and professional approach and attitude at all times, while providing the highest standard of care and support.

  • Punctuality and Respect: Be punctual and respectful at all times, never leaving the service user unattended during caring/support duty.

  • Prohibited Activities: Be aware of activities and tasks that must NOT be undertaken as part of the service provision.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, concise, and timely records of service user care, comment sheets, timesheets, the communication book, and any other means of recording information about the service user.

  • Reporting Concerns: Report to the line manager immediately any concerns that arise during the delivery of the service. Make daily logs of each visit on service user notes using the online monitoring system and produce/provide written records (reports) of any incidents, accidents, or emergencies within 24 hours.

  • Collaboration: Work with the line manager to ensure that carers, family members, parents, and other responsible adults are provided with relevant forms relating to the recording of information about the service being provided to the service user.

  • Review Participation: Participate in reviews of service users’ care plans as required.

Daily tasks:

  • Assisting service users with personal tasks.
  • Serving meals and assisting with feeding.
  • Providing activities for mental stimulation.
  • Handling daily tasks such as letter writing, bill paying, and benefit collection.
  • Light cleaning and meal preparation.
  • Implementing care plans in collaboration with professional staff.

Care Support Worker

Location: BATH
Full Time & Part Time
£11.70 hourly

Purpose of the Job:

  • Flexible working hours essential
  • Positions for full time or part-time staff
  • Small hour and full time hours available
  • Many opportunities for evening workers
  • We welcome weekend only workers as well
  • Excellent rates of pay with weekend supplement
  • Must be able to work under own initiative

Daily tasks:

  • Assist in the daily personal care of the client
  • Prompting of medication
  • Preparation of meals and assisting in feeding when required
  • Domestic duties, cleaning, shopping etc.
  • Taking Services users in the community and developing their social skills.

A key element of the role is the ability to communicate effectively with our customers, their family and friends and other health and social care professionals. Specific tasks will be identified for each customer and will vary according to individual need and choice.
